So I'm in bed, trying to sleep on my last night of summer break and I feel like the kids in the Disney commercial: I'm too excited to sleep! In 6.5 hours, my alarm will wake me up and I'll start a new year of school. Even though this week is teacher training week with no students, I'm still excited. Excited to see my amazing returning coworkers, meet the new additions to our Summit family, embark on a new chapter as the CC room intervention specialist in the high school, and excited to have our whole Summit family under one roof.
With all this excitement also comes a boatload of other feelings and emotions. Anxiety and nervousness about my new position, worry that the new building won't be ready for school to start, wonder about how big my classroom is and how I'm going to create an amazing classroom environment that works for not only my students, but myself and my instructional assistant. At the end of last school year, my coteacher for the last 2 years got a position in the local public school district, our English teacher left because of some health issues, her intervention specialist (my teacher bestie) got married and moved out of state. This year, 2 of my friends are amongst the new staff joining us this year. Even though we will all be in different floors, it will be fun to collaborate and commiserate with everyone!
While there is SO MUCH to do before my kiddos start, I'm excited for the new year full of new possibilities!

New Printer?!?!?!?!?

Can it be true? I'm getting a new printer at work?!?!?! I realize this might not be as exciting for you as it is for me. but what you must understand is that I have the oldest computer at work... by like 3 years or more (and in computer age, 3 years is a long time!) I've only been without a printer for like 3 days at work, but even when I did have a color printer, it didn't print on cardstock which ment I couldn't print the business cards, or the time cards. Now I can print color things at my desk that I would either have to have someone else print, or I would have to print them on the other side of the building, meaning I would have to go to the other side of the building, load the correct paper product in the printer, go back to my desk to hit the print button, back to the printer to collect the printed items, then back to my desk to do whatever I had planned on doing with it. (that is if I remember what I was going to do with it)

Rough Day

I can't say it's entirely been rough... just the last 20 minutes. The rest of my weekend was great! (that's for a happier blog post later.) As I was on my way home from a birthday party, I realized tomorrow is Monday. I have to go back to work tomorrow. And I don't want to. Going along with that is I'm sick of my job and I'm sick of complaining about my job. I'm grateful for the ability I have to work and provide for myself. I really am. But this last year, it's been really rough. Between a new boss and new rules and procedures I just dont want to be there anymore. I really dont! I'm sick of disliking Sunday nights so much because I know what the next day will bring. Frustration, anxiety, loathing, genereal dislike, feeling underappreciated.
